![]() Running it in a low DPI sandbox is the only answer that can work. Any application that tells Windows it will handle DPI scaling on its own is usually a total disaster. Windows finally added an application setting to force an application to low DPI all the time which can be used for some misbehaving programs. I ran a mixed DPI environment for a couple years before finally having all my monitors at high DPI. It took Adobe a long time to get it right, but finally it works OK. Obviously dragging between windows is a bit of a train wreck no matter what you do, but it will resize correctly once it is completely inside one Window. However if you used WPF for your GUI you would find that it handles everything almost perfectly all by itself. There is no doubt that internally mixed DPI programming is an absolute nightmare. Īs one example, due to a technical limitation, right now Snagit only supports recording 1920x1080 videos: Again, please use the survey to get us this information. But we also want to solicit your feedback on any other limitations you may experience that may impact your work. Our goal is to gather as much data as possible on the types of high DPI screens being used and the issues you are seeing when using Snagit.Īddressing outright bugs is our first priority. If you're still experiencing #3 or another issue NOT listed here, please fill out this survey on the issues you are having so we can get more feedback. This was fixed in the 12.3.3 version of Snagit: Some people have mentioned having a Snagit issue with capturing with an external monitor. If there is a specific screen that is NOT functional with a high DPI screen, let us know via the survey link below.ģ. We are currently working on substantially improving this. Many elements of the UI in Snagit/Camtasia, though still functional, are tiny or not scaled/positioned correctly on higher DPI screens. We also are aware of these high dpi problems:ġ. We want to make it clear we DO have plans to improve the high resolution experience in general, including many of the more popular, high resolution laptops being sold today. ![]() (All other related posts will be merged with this official post.) This post will serve as the official topic and will be periodically updated with information from TechSmith. There are several topics surrounding Snagit and the ability to correctly capture high resolution screens. ![]()
